AI ROI calculator
Estimate what a manual process costs today and what automation could save, using your own hours and rates.
Estimated time returned each year

- Full-time equivalent0
- Value of time returned0
- Conservative case (half the share)0
An estimate from your inputs only. Our fees are fixed per phase and agreed before we start. Nothing is sent or stored.
What the estimate depends on
Hours per week
The time your team spends on the process now, measured over a normal month.
Hourly cost
Salary plus on-costs such as super, payroll tax and leave.
Share of time removed
A conservative estimate, ideally from a test on your own documents.
People involved
Everyone who touches the process, including the person who checks the output.
How to read the result
The calculator is a directional model. It tells you whether a process is worth investigating, and the output is only as good as the hours and rates you enter.
If the figure is going to a board or management paper, state your assumptions alongside it so they can be challenged. Our engagements run in fixed-fee phases, agreed before we start, so a first phase is a capped decision cost and you can stop after any phase and keep everything.
Questions
How accurate is the AI ROI calculator?
It is a directional model that shows whether a process is worth investigating, and it gives no quote. Accuracy depends entirely on the hours and rates you enter, so measure the process over a normal month and use conservative inputs if a board will see the result.
What hourly cost should I enter?
Enter the fully loaded cost of the people doing the work: salary plus superannuation, payroll tax, leave and overheads such as workers compensation. Your finance team can usually supply a standard on-cost percentage, which makes the figure easier to defend.
What is a good payback period for AI automation?
There is no standard figure, so use the payback threshold your organisation already applies to other operational investments. High-volume processes with stable inputs usually pay back fastest, and low-volume work rarely justifies a custom build.
Does the calculator include Solve8's fees?
No. It estimates the cost of the manual process and the potential saving only. Build costs depend on scope, and we agree a fixed fee per phase, after a discovery session, before any work starts.
