AI consulting for Canberra agencies and suppliers

Solve8's AI consulting and AI services help Canberra agencies meet the Commonwealth AI policy and help suppliers answer agency AI questions in writing.

AI services Canberra teams ask for

AI already in use found, including features vendors switched on inside existing platforms.

  • Impact assessment inputs

Data sources, risks and controls for each use case, ready for your accountable owner.

  • Copilot readiness

Labels, oversharing, containment and retention checked before licences are bought.

  • AI that stays inside the boundary

Open models on agency-controlled infrastructure, including environments without internet access.

  • Supplier evidence packs

The documentation an agency needs to assess your product, kept current as your model changes.

  • Data and Power BI reporting

Program, finance and performance data joined in one model your analysts can extend.

Commonwealth AI policy, version 2.0

The Policy for the responsible use of AI in government took effect on 15 December 2025 for non-corporate Commonwealth entities. Agencies have until 15 December 2026 to put impact assessments in place, and existing use cases are due by 30 April 2027.

  • Accountable officials and a transparency statement
  • A register with an owner for each use case
  • Impact assessment before deployment
  • Foundational AI training for APS staff

How we work with Canberra teams

  1. Scoping call

A short call, then the phase one scope and fee set out in writing for your procurement team.

  2. Workshops in Canberra

Our consultants travel for discovery, and the rest runs on the meeting tools your agency permits.

  3. Build and pilot

Delivered in your environment under your access controls, with one use case piloted first.

  4. Parallel run

The pilot runs beside current practice, and an accountable officer approves every output that matters.

Questions

What AI services do you provide in Canberra?

Solve8 helps Canberra agencies and their suppliers build an AI use case register, prepare impact assessment inputs, get Microsoft 365 ready for Copilot and run private AI inside their own boundary. We also build data and Power BI reporting.

Do you provide government IT services in Canberra?

We cover the AI, data, integration and software end of government IT for agencies and their suppliers. Helpdesk, managed desktops and IT outsourcing stay with your managed service provider, and we work beside them under the access your agency grants.

Can you integrate systems for a Canberra agency?

Yes. We connect case management, finance, HR and reporting systems through documented interfaces, so data moves without rekeying and each flow is recorded for your security assessment. Integration work runs remotely in your environment, with workshops in Canberra for design and sign-off.

Can you build Power BI reporting for APS program data?

Yes. We build Power BI models for program, finance and performance reporting, with each measure defined in writing so figures in briefs, Estimates packs and annual reports agree. Data stays inside your environment and report permissions follow your existing security groups.

Can Copilot be used safely in an agency?

The DTA's evaluation of the whole-of-government Copilot trial found Copilot may magnify poor data security and information management practices. Solve8's readiness work audits access, labels and retention before a pilot group starts.

Is Solve8 IRAP assessed?

No. Solve8 does not hold an IRAP assessment and does not perform them. We help agencies and suppliers prepare systems and evidence before an assessment by an ASD-endorsed assessor.
