AI advisory, consultancy and automation for Sydney
Solve8 provides AI advisory, consultancy and automation for mid-sized to enterprise, multi-site Sydney organisations in professional services, construction, field service and financial services.
Hiring an AI agency in Sydney?
Sydney buyers tend to arrive with one of two briefs. The board wants an AI plan with the cost and risks named, or an operations team wants one queue of work gone. A search for an AI agency in Sydney turns up firms built for either brief, and a few that handle both.
Our consultants start with AI advisory: an inventory of the AI already in use across the organisation, the processes worth automating ranked by value, and the regulation each one touches. Our engineers then build the first of those into your systems, with a fee earner, analyst or supervisor approving each result. If you stop after the advisory phase, the roadmap is still yours.
We have no Sydney office. Our team flies in from the Brisbane region for workshops, works remotely between visits and writes every trip into the scope, so you know in advance what happens in the room and what happens online.

How to choose an AI consultancy in Sydney
Use these checks on any Sydney shortlist. Each states what to ask, then how Solve8 answers it.
Data processing on record
Ask for processing and storage locations in writing, sub-processors included. We build in your own cloud or on your servers in Australia, and your prompts and documents are never used to train a model.
Ready for vendor due diligence
APRA-regulated buyers need answers for CPS 230 and CPS 234 reviews. We supply architecture, access and incident details early, so your risk team is not left waiting on us.
A fixed fee, then a decision
Ask for a fee per phase and a written stop point. Ours are agreed before work starts, and the advisory phase ends with a roadmap you own whether or not you continue.
Proof that is running
Ask what is live today. We can walk you through our own products Carbonly.ai and RootCauseAI, a workforce app still used by a company of 1,500+ staff, and anonymised client work.
Your core platforms
Sydney head offices often run Dynamics, SAP, NetSuite or Pronto beside practice and CRM systems. Ask which of those a firm has connected before. Ours span ERP, CRM, practice and field systems.
Time in your offices
Ask how on-site work is planned. Our consultants fly in for workshops in the CBD, North Sydney, Parramatta and Macquarie Park, and each visit is agreed in the scope.
Ownership after go-live
Ask who monitors accuracy and who you call when something changes. You receive the code, runbooks and training, and our managed AI service is optional.
Advice you can take elsewhere
Ask whether the roadmap favours products the firm sells. Ours can recommend keeping what you already run, and it is yours to deliver with anyone.
AI agency, consultancy, managed service provider or freelancer in Sydney
Each type of firm has a strength. The right column is the question a regulated Sydney buyer should put to it.
| Typical strength | Question for a regulated buyer | |
|---|---|---|
| AI agency | Customer-facing assistants, campaign content and fast prototypes | Where do prompts and customer data go, and who responds under our incident process? |
| AI consultancy | Advisory, the business case and building AI into finance, operations or practice systems | Who from the pitch team does the build, and how is accuracy proven before go-live? |
| IT managed service provider | Running devices, networks, identity and security monitoring at scale | Is AI delivered by specialists, and are licence recommendations kept apart from advice? |
| Freelancer or contractor | A bounded piece of work with a clear specification | Who covers leave, documentation and CPS 230 evidence if one person holds all the knowledge? |

AI in Sydney: industries, regulators and first projects
Sydney holds the head offices of the country's major banks, insurers and fund managers and many of its large law and accounting firms. Around them sit technology businesses in North Sydney and Macquarie Park, multi-site health groups, logistics near Port Botany and the airport, and contractors working on Sydney Metro and Western Sydney projects. For most AI work here, regulated data is the starting assumption.
Which rules apply depends on who you are. APRA-regulated entities manage material service providers, AI vendors included, under CPS 230, in force since 1 July 2025, and protect information assets under CPS 234. Private organisations follow the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles, overseen by the OAIC. NSW Government agencies work under the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998, including its mandatory data breach notification scheme, and assess their AI projects with the NSW AI Assessment Framework, which is why suppliers get asked for evidence. Health records also fall under the Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2002, and contractors work to payment schedule deadlines under the NSW Security of Payment Act.
Sydney organisations most often start with matter intake and drafting in professional firms, reconciliations and client reporting in financial services, and progress claims, payment schedules and carbon figures on construction projects. Many need an AI use inventory and a permissions check first, because assistants such as Microsoft Copilot surface whatever a user can already open.

Questions
How does an AI advisory engagement run for a Sydney organisation?
A Solve8 advisory engagement inventories the AI already in use, ranks candidate processes, maps the regulation each one touches and ends with a costed roadmap and one pilot. You own the document.
What makes a good AI advisory firm in Sydney?
A good AI advisory firm in Sydney can answer your privacy, CPS 230 and data location questions in writing, build the first process itself and show systems it has already put into production. Ask to meet the people who will do the work, and ask what you keep if you stop after the advisory phase. Our answer to the last question is the full roadmap and business case.
How much does an AI consultant cost in Sydney?
AI consultant costs in Sydney vary with scope, so any figure given before discovery is a guess. The main drivers are how many systems and business units are involved, how sensitive the data is, the security and vendor reviews your risk team needs, and where the AI will be hosted. We quote a fixed fee for each phase after discovery, with planned trips to Sydney included, and you can stop after any phase.
Can an AI agency build inside our own Australian cloud instead of its platform?
An AI agency or consultancy can build inside your own cloud in Australia if it is set up to, and for regulated Sydney organisations that is often the safer design. Your existing access controls, logging and contracts then apply to the AI as well. The quoting engine we built for a national fire protection provider runs in that client's own cloud in Sydney.
Is it safe to switch on AI tools in a Sydney law or accounting firm?
It is safe once client separation has been checked. AI assistants surface anything a user can open, so loose SharePoint or practice system permissions can expose one client's files to another matter team. We audit access first, then automate intake, drafting or client reporting with a fee earner approving output.
How does APRA CPS 230 affect an AI project?
CPS 230 requires APRA-regulated entities to manage operational risk and material service providers, so the vendor of an AI tool supporting a critical operation may need to be on that register. CPS 234 adds information security duties, including notifying APRA within 72 hours of a material incident.
How long does AI implementation take for a Sydney organisation?
Timelines depend more on access and approvals than on the build. We agree the timeline in the written scope after discovery, and for APRA-regulated entities we start vendor due diligence and security review in the first week, so it does not hold up the build.
Will your consultants come to our Sydney offices?
Our consultants fly in for workshops in the CBD, Parramatta, Macquarie Park, Western Sydney, Newcastle and Wollongong, and build work runs remotely between trips. There is no Sydney office, so each visit is planned into the scope.
